The trial for Leo Taddeo, director of New Era Homes, was set for July 5th when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrates' court on Tuesday of this week.

Taddeo, who is charged with sexual grooming, sexual touching  and grievous sexual assault, was told that the birth certificate of the complainant along with a further statement were still outstanding.

He is being represented by attorney-at-law KD Knight.

Allegations are that Taddeo reportedly offered three complainants $500 and then $800,000 to have sex. A report was made to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).

An investigation was launched which resulted in Taddeo being charged with three counts of sexual grooming.

He was granted bail last year, and one of the conditions of his bail is that he is to report daily to the Matilda's Corner Police Station.

Taddeo is well-known for his New Era firm’s construction of 200 middle-income homes on the 131-acre property at Caymanas Estate in St Catherine. The Caymanas Country Club Estate was the first phase of the real estate project.

New Era acquired the land for the residential development from the Urban Development Corporation and was one of the first public-private partnership deals to be struck under the expansive 10,000-acre Caymanas project.
