International reggae superstar Jah Cure is pleased with the public’s response to his collaboration, All By Myself, with the late American rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur.

The single, which was bankrolled by US-based indie powerhouse SoBe Entertainment for Jah Cure’s upcoming album, was produced by Jamal ‘Mally Mall’ Rashad and co-written by Grammy-winning songwriter and musician Jason ‘Poo Bear’ Boyd.

“This song came about through my contacts in the US who had a track with Tupac. I am good friends with the musician Poo Bear, who is known for production with Usher, Lupe Fiasco, Kelly Rowland and other superstars, and who helped me write a few lines around this song. I believe it is a good fit, remember that Tupac went to prison too, he understands the struggle and he is the Marley of his art form, so it was an authentic collaboration,” Jah Cure said. .

“Tupac was one of my favourite artistes before I even knew I was gonna have the opportunity to collaborate with him. Millions to Tupac fans  will hear this song, and combined with my fans, this is going to be a hit song for my album,” Jah Cure added.

The single will appear on the singer’s ‘World Cry’ album for SoBe Entertainment which is set to be released this fall.

“I am the singer representing reggae internationally, and I want to do it on the highest level, to be on VH1, MTV, HOT 97, they are waiting to see me, the US is waiting for me,” the singer said.

Jah Cure recently returned to Jamaica after brokering a deal with a major telecommunications company to sponsor a trio of concerts on October 10th, 11th, and 12th in the island chain of The Bahamas.

The singer is no stranger to international collaborations having partnered with Rick Ross, Mary J. Blige, Flo Rida and fellow reggae star Junior Reid in the past. International rap superstar Drake also sampled the singer’s reggae single, ‘Farmer’s Pleasure’ for the ‘Undergound Kingz’ radio hit.

“It’s good to see the hip-hop artistes recognising me. Drake sampled one of my songs and I recently received my cheque for it so I have to say thanks to Drake,” he said.

Jah Cure will begin a tour of Africa on November 1.
