A funeral service for late dancehall deejay Delmark ‘Delus’ Spence is scheduled for the Church of Resurrection, 1 Dickens Avenue in Duhaney Park in St Andrew, on Saturday, July 23. The funeral shares the date of this year's Reggae Night of Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay.

The funeral service will start at 11 a.m. The entertainer’s mother, Winsome Worthington, made the announcement via a Facebook post.

“Rest in peace, my sweet son, my first-born, Delus. You will never be forgotten, mother will always love you forever,” the photo caption read.

Delus, older brother of dancehall artiste Konshens, died on June 22. Konshens also posted an image of the funeral programme on Instagram.

According to the Corporate Communications Unit — the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s information arm, residents of Riverside Drive in Havendale, St Andrew, alerted the police minutes after 7:00 pm after hearing an explosion from the artiste’s apartment.

His lifeless body was discovered in his bathroom with a gunshot wound to the head. He was 35.

Interment will be in the Meadowrest Memorial Gardens in St Catherine.
