Jahvinci hits #18 on HYPE TV charts Featured

Corey Todd Records recording artiste Jahvinci has scored his first major hit since leaving the Portmore Empire earlier this year with his breakout In My Life single hitting #18 on the HYPE TV charts last week.

 

 

 "It feels great to get a hit with 'In My Life', it is a heartfelt song, a very personal song for me, and I really thank the radio disc jockeys, selectors and fans who have been supporting the single...it really means a lot to me," Jahvinci said in a release.

 The video for “In My Life” premiered on CVM TV's 'Onstage' last weekend. The video is also in rotation on a number of other stations such as HYPE TV, RE TV, N TV Jamaica and CVM.

 He has officially been booked to perform at Reggae Sumfest 2011 in Montego Bay. The “Watch Yuh Frenz” singer joins the likes of Beenie Man, I-Octane, Mavado, Tanya Stephens & Jah Cure as local Dancehall-Reggae acts who will grace the festival’s stage during the weekend of July 21-23.

 Jahvinci is enjoying his new-found creative freedom. He has recorded a single, Love You, on producer Seanizzle's new Sex on the Beach riddim, and in the near future, the artiste also be collaborating with producers such as Sly Dunbar (one half of Sly & Robbie) of Taxi Rec ords & Donovan Germaine of Penthouse Records.

 “Anything is possible because mi free but mi a gwaan focus pon my work and build my career, I am looking forward to recording some great
songs for major producers like Sly Dunbar and Donovan Germaine who have contributed a lot to reggae music,” Jahvinci said.

 

Jahvinci, whose real name is Andre Rhoden, burst unto the scene in 2008 with Weh Dem A Guh, a collaboration with Vybz Kartel on Stephen
McGregor's hit Day Rave riddim. Since then he has recorded songs suchas Money, Watch Yuh Friends — which hit #1 on several charts in
Jamaica and overseas — Wipe Those Tears, Guide Me and Mi Know. One of his latest hit singles was Mama Love on the Eternal riddim late last
year.
