After years of struggling for a breakthrough in music, dancehall artiste Thugsy Malone is finally getting a major buzz with his latest single, 'Call Name'. The single, released on Queste Production  label this week, which has racked up over 101,000 views in only three days on popular youtube blogger Rawpa Crawpa's channel.

" Ah just facts, I am a ghetto reporter, is just what the streets a say," Thugsy Malone said.

The single was actually #6 on trending earlier this week. In the song, he disses Khago, takes a potshot at Alkaline, takes a stab at Elephant Man, and makes several references to Bounty Killer's ungrateful sons. At one point, he deejays: "From Mavado and Busy buss, dem no help nobody, the only man mi see help somebody ah Addi/Popcaan par with too much squaddy, like ah him inform pon him daddy".

"The single has over 140,000 views on Facebook, and 100,000 on Rawpa Crawpa channel, and Akam has 35,000 views, so this is easily most popular song to date, I feel really good. I haven't got much negative feedback as yet face to face but on the Internet, certain fans ah talk up a bagga tings; no artiste nah try page me or nothing. This song is just a simple commentary on what is going on in the industry. Not many juggling riddims, gone are the days when two to three artistes buss on a one riddim, everyone get selfish, nobody nah help nobody again because dem fraid that man buss bigger than dem," the artiste whose real name is Donovan Drysdale, said.

He said that his general, Bounty Killer, called him to offer his personal congratulations for the popularity of the 'Call Name' song.

"Bounty Killer himself call me himself and say congrats and thumbs up, good job,'look what it takes to make you into someone', he said. Mi feel good because ah mi general that, ah long time him believe inna me," he said.

Born in Eleven Miles Bull Bay located on the south east coast of Jamaica, music has always been embedded in the recording artiste’s DNA since birth. Thugsy Malone attended Donald Quarrie Comprehensive High, then migrated to New York where he later went to Prospect Heights High.

While attending school in New York, he fell in love with music, and he met up with Shabba Ranks while he was on tour in the United States of America, who immediately took Thugsy Malone under his wing where he continued to hone his skill as a recording artiste. Bounty Killer also served as a mentor for the artiste. He previously released songs such as 'Wash Away the Pain', 'My Money' and 'Still Have Mi Life'. But none of them has had the big impact of 'Call Name'.

Thugsy Malone is currently under the management Peter Nar.

"Right now, I am moving towards doing a video for the song by next week so it can hit the Internet and cable stations," he said.
